"Baseball's baseball, wherever it's played," is the view of these two husky old veterans, Joe McCarthy and Jack Hendricks. Once rival leaders in the American Association they are now leading teams in the National League.

McCarthy, who became manager of the Chicago Cubs over last winter, is the "baby manager" of the big leagues. He has the task of leading the Cubs out of eighth place. Owner Wrigley of the Cubs coaxed McCarthy to leave the management of the Louisville A. A.
